Beste Collegas,
Zoals eerder aangekondigd richt Common Belgie zich voortaan niet meer enkel tot de vroegere System i gebruiker, maar gaan we een stuk breder.
Voortaan gaat onze focus naar alle IT-oplossingen die een middelgrote en kleine onderneming in huis heeft. Het is dus ook onze ambitie om zo snel mogelijk onze werking uit te breiden naar de Unix, x86 en Storage wereld. Vandaar een oproep naar kanididaten om dit gestalte te kunnen geven.
We zoeken meer specifiek IBM klanten die IBM System p en/of IBM Storage en/of IBM x86 geinstalleerd hebben :
- die de belangen van deze gebruikers willen vertegenwoordigen
- die gebruikersmeetings samen met IBM willen organizeren
- die gebruikerservaringen tussen de leden onderling willen doorgeven.
Hebt U interesse hiervoor, aarzel niet de Common voorzitter Gustaaf Legroux te kontakteren.

Comme annoncé précédemment, COMMON Belgium ne se positionne plus uniquement comme User club System i. Nous souhaitons nous étendre à toutes les Solutions IT applicables aux petites et moyennes entreprises. Notre ambition est de nous ouvrir au monde Unix, x86 et Storage. Nous faisons appel à des candidats intéressés à nous rejoindre. Nous pensons plus spécifiquement à des clients qui, ayant déjà installés de l’IBM System p, IBM Storage et/ou IBM x86, soient intéressés à :
- Représenter les intérêts des utilisateurs
- Organiser les réunions utilisateurs en collaboration avec IBM
- Faire profiter les utilisateurs de leur expérience

Dear Colleague,
We are pleased to announce that COMMON Belgium, the users association that used to profile itself strongly as a System i-user group, has decided to become the users association of medium-sized and small enterprises that are or want to become a client of IBM.
Moreover, the focus is expanded to include total solutions in ICT, which are often a combination of different server types, storage sub-systems, management systems, middleware and applications.
COMMON also wants to focus on strategic areas, such as ecological data centres, IT simplification through consolidation and virtualisation, and the optimisation of the Total Cost of Ownership.
With this, COMMON follows the IBM strategy, which is focused on offering support for the development of an IT implementation, in perfect coordination with your company’s business strategy.
As an independent group, COMMON Belgium will from now on further the interests of the medium-sized and small enterprises, with the objective of:
- Informing the members on trends and products
- Formulating product requirements to IBM
- Launching a dialogue with IBM and its Business Partners about everything that is important in a client relationship
- Being a meeting place for users to exchange experiences and best practices
COMMON is not just focused on IT infrastructure but also on:
- Development tools
- Middleware and application software
- System management
- Innovation
- Green IT
- Trends and news
- IT management
- Project management
Five times a year, COMMON members will receive the COMMON Newsletter and are invited to the events of COMMON Belgium (cf. www.common.be), the annual congress of COMMON Europe and the congress of COMMON US.
With this letter, COMMON Belgium and IBM would also like to announce the “IBM Infrastructure & Solutions Day”.
